Usually it's government officials and community leaders preaching to students about violence. But this time students from Chicago's South Side got a chance to voice their concerns about the community. Cook County Commissioner Deborah Sims, led the discussion “Kids Off the Block Making an Impact: A Conversation for Change & A House of Hope,” which involved several youth center programs in the area. Following the event, community leaders will discuss how to improve the neighborhood and establish an anonymous hotline for kids in the area.
