Almost three weeks after she was injected with a new drug to treat central vision loss, Cecilia Apiedu gets an eye check up.

Cecilia Apiedu suffered blurry and shaky vision that made it difficult to read because the fluid in her left eye was tugging at the retina and caused holes.  She was the first person in Chicago to be injected with a solution called Jetrea, which was FDA-approved in October.  It allows the eye fluid and retina to separate and close these gaps.  Apiedu said she was excited to try the 5-minute procedure as an alternative to surgery.
