Rahm's 27 initiatives
On Tuesday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel released the Chicago New Americans Plan, which outlines 27 initiatives the City will take to make immigrant-owned businesses a positive for economic growth in the community. His plan is grouped into three categories: Our Growth, Our Youth, Our Communities.
Our Growth: To accelerate economic growth by training and attracting immigrants to fill more than 100,000 unfilled positions.
Our Youth: To attract top employers and create jobs, while supporting immigrant children and investing in their education.
Our Communities: To build stronger ties between immigrants and non-immigrants, and with public safety officials to ensure safety and security in Chicago neighborhoods.
