The National Veterans Art Museum opened at its new location on Veterans Day. The museum displays work by veterans to show the public the impact of war and how it affects those who fight in it. The first exhibit is called Welcome Home and features work from Vietnam War Veteran Dr. Charles Smith and Iraq War Veteran Ash Kyrie. The show runs through Memorial Day. In this video report, Kyrie talks about why he tells his story through art, and museum board chairman and Vietnam War veteran Mike Helbing talks about his goals for the museum and his lifetime of creating art.
