The heated campaign between U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Fox Lake) and Democratic opponent Tammy Duckworth in the 8th Congressional District exploded Tuesday night during a debate in Rolling Meadows.
Broadcast on WIND-AM (560) and WCPT-AM (820), the large crowd of supporters could be heard actively participating in the debate -- lobbing their cheers, boos and personal opinions towards the stage at every opportunity.
This rowdy audience, along with frequent interruptions and personal barbs made by the candidates, left moderator Paul Green, professor of political science at Roosevelt University, with little control over the situation. The event served as a rallying cry for supporters of both parties, but offered little to the few undecided voters present.
Here are what supporters said about their favored candidate.
