Seismometer shakes up Ryerson

A seismometer, an instrument used to measure earthquakes, made its debut this week at Lake County's Ryerson Conservation Area. The device is part of the deployment of 450 seismometers across the country. The Ryerson seismometer can detect quakes in places as far away as China. Watch as engineer Dean Lashway installs the instrument and explains his role in the project.
