Chika Oduah is a reporter for the Medill News Service. She will receive her master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism in 2010. Chika has experience in radio, television, newspaper and podcasting. She is interested in international issues and human rights advocacy. As a native of Nigeria, she is passionate about telling the stories of Africans and views journalism as a way to empower the global audience. Chika has studied abroad, volunteered in refugee centers and has held various internships. An anthropologist at heart, Chika approaches journalism from a cultural perspective. She believes journalists must reveal the culture of people. Her philosophy: the stories we share should inspire, enlighten and connect.
